Can I insure my DPD package?
When you ship with DPD, your parcels (excluding letterbox parcels) are insured as standard up to €520, provided they are eligible for DPD shipping. Some goods are classified by DPD as 'Excluded from service' and are therefore not covered by the insurance.
These include:
- Parcels that exceed the maximum dimensions or are not properly packaged
- Artworks
- Jewelry (including watches)
- Precious metals (including gold and silver)
- Gemstones
- Pearls
- Glass and items containing glass
- Porcelain
- Earthenware
- Antiques
- Carpets
- Fur
- Cash, negotiable instruments (checks, lottery tickets, admission tickets, etc.)
- Liquids of all kinds
- Hazardous and flammable goods, including waste materials, medical waste, hypodermic needles and syringes, (replica) firearms, (replica/imitation) weapons or parts thereof, (replica/imitation) ammunition, items/products with a blade or cutting edge, explosives, fireworks, chemicals, acids, corrosive and irritating substances, pharmaceutical products/medicines
- Batteries
- Tobacco, cannabis oil, e-cigarette liquid, all types of drugs
- Body parts
- Living and dead animals
- Televisions or monitors with a diagonal length of 37 cm
- Goods requiring specific permits (including excise goods)
- Tenders and related documents, contracts, test results, and similar documents
- Weights (barbells, dumbbells, etc.)
- Counterfeit goods
