Surcharges.

Volume surcharge (within EU) PostNL charges a volume surcharge for parcels within the EU. We choose not to pass on the volume surcharge for packages within the EU for now, to give you the opportunity to adjust your packaging.
Energy surcharge (within EU and Belgium)
Energy surcharge (buiten EU) The transport surcharge has been changed to an energy surcharge on January 1st, 2023. The energy surcharge is € 1.75 per kg.
Manual processing surcharge If products are not packaged correctly or not securely, they can disrupt the logistics process of the carrier. For this you pay a surcharge of € 3.46 per package (with the exception of Germany and France).
Volumetric weight (outside the EU) The rate for a worldwide shipment (a shipment outside Europe) is calculated as follows: Basic rate + energy surcharge + (volume weight x kilo surcharge). This working method was created to tax shipments that take up more space and/or weight during transport more than smaller and/or lighter shipments.
Peak surcharge A surcharge of € 0.25 per package only applies during the end of the year period.

Sending smaller parcels abroad

Occasionally, smaller parcels with international destinations that fit through the letterbox (letterbox parcels) are sent through the mail sorting centre, regardless of the parcel label. When a parcel is sent abroad through the mail sorting centre, it takes longer for the parcel to be offered to the customer. In this case, the Track &amp Trace code cannot be tracked completely either. Therefore, when you use a parcel label for smaller parcels, check first that the parcel does not fit through the letterbox.
