We now know that you can use Instagram to promote your webshop – the options are endless! It doesn’t matter if you don’t have an advertising budget. You can achieve a lot more with Instagram beyond advertising – you just need to be creative. If you’re lacking inspiration, this blog is for you!   • Organise a giveaway

Ask your potential and existing followers to guess how many Dutch pepernoten there are in a vase or how many baubles are hanging from the tree. Make them post their answers underneath the picture and specify how long they have to participate. You can announce the winners later by tagging them. This type of promotion creates a lot of interaction with your audience and new followers.

  • Let customers tag you in their content

Give your customers a reason to show on Instagram that they bought something from you and how to do so. You could make them tag products or use a certain #, for example. It’s a good idea to thank them for the mention with a like or a reaction. In doing so, you improve interaction and engagement.

  • Ask a question in the caption of your photo or video

You can ask a question in a caption, for example: ‘Tells us in the comments which friend you want to share this tasty breakfast with!’ or ‘Tell us in the comments what you think of this new item!’. This increases your brand awareness and your content’s reach. It also creates a lot of interaction between potential and existing followers in a way that is easily accessible. Don’t forget to participate in conversations!

  • Repost customer content

If you have customers who share their purchases from your webshop with their Instagram followers, make sure you repost their content on your own page. If they’re happy, you’re happy!

  • Ask a question in a poll

By adding a poll to your story, you can ask customers a question and give them two options to choose from. This also creates interaction and you can ask them for ideas or ask them to help you decide on something to do with your webshop. Followers enjoy being involved in the decision-making process.

  • Add content (plus icon)

Here, you can add new photos or videos to your summary. You can use a photo from your camera roll or take a photo or video and share it straight away.

  • Your profile (the circle)

This takes you to your Instagram profile. It gives a summary in your own content, Instagram users you follow and who follow you, your bio, saved stories and photos you are tagged in.
